HELP FOR HAITIAN EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

Many of our customers want to know how they can help send relief to victims and survivors of the January 12 earthquake that devastated Haiti.

At the moment, there are two ways Ten Thousand Villages customers can help:

1. Make a financial donation to the Mennonite Central Committee. The Mennnonite Central Committee, or MCC, has an excellent reputation for serving the immediate needs of people following a natural disaster, and has already allocated $100,000 for Haitian relief. To make a donation and learn more, visit www.mcc.org.

2. Continue to buy Haitian products from Ten Thousand Villages. On the surface it may seem strange, even crass, but our artisans have told us over and again that the fastest way they, their families, and their communities can recover from disaster is to get back to work. To that end, we have now clearly marked all our Haitian items in the store.

In the coming days and weeks Ten Thousand Villages may be asked to also provide emergency assistance to our artisan groups, Comite Artisanal Haitien, in San Salvador, and Caribbean Crafts in Port-au-Prince.

In the meantime we will keep our artisans, all the people of Haiti, and the relief workers in our thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for your concern, and for all you do to make the world a better place through Fair Trade.
